Volunteering Abroad

shadows

Many young people, especially those about to take a gap year or a summer break from studying ask Outset Youth Action about how to accredit and record and volunteering they take part in abroad, while Outset does not run foreign programmes there are many organisations that can accredit and recognise your volunteering:

Connect Youth International: The European Voluntary Service allows young people to experience Europe, while making a difference by volunteering in one of the many placements across Europe. http://www.britishcouncil.org/connectyouth.htm

ASDAN Short Course International Award: The ASDAN International Award accredits up to 60 hours of activity in the international arena: language study; foreign travel; international links; exchange programmes; work experience abroad; European studies; and global citizenship. It is a flexible, multi-level Award that can be undertaken by students aged 11-19 years. The Award provides a standalone certificate of achievement undertaken both inside and outside formal education. It also offers progression into nationally recognised Awards and Qualifications.
